Doctoral Programme in Social Sciences
The G B Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad was set up in 1980 and undertakes multi-disciplinary research in social sciences. The Institute encourages interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches to the understanding of social and economic change.
Students are required to take the Combined Research Entrance Test (CRET) of the University of Allahabad in any of the social sciences subjects including Anthropology, Ancient and Medieval History, Economics, Geography, Management, Modern History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology. The CRET will be announced by the University of Allahabad around June 10, 2013 on its website www.auadmission.co.in .
Those who have passed the JRF test of the UGC are also required to register in CRET. They are exempted from written tests and could appear directly for interviews at the G B Pant Social Science Institute.
